On that day everyone's free-to-air analog TV signal will dissappear! And in its place will be DTV, the newest free-to-air Digital TV signal. Everyone must have a new Digital Television converter box to allow them to receive those new Digital Television signals. DTV will become a household word and with one bold move a visionary company could totally dominate American television for the foreseeable future. Many people have not yet realized that this transition will bring the internet to the living room couch of every American. Phase One is happening now. Millions of Americans are visiting the U.S. Government But that is just the start. A few months after the DTV transition is complete, the next generation of set top converters will be available. Options such as enhanced sound and removable hard disk recorders will be important, but the most world changing addition will be the broadband connection. With broadband on the DTV converter, both internet television and the public's use of the internet will explode. Imagine tens of millions of new people joining the internet revolution. People who have never used the internet because it was too difficult or too "new". DTV is part of the "Digital Convergence".
